Thomas and I went to the Campbellsville Frontier Days last Saturday and I met a lovely lady living in our part of the state, she was born and raised in the Ukraine of Russia. She raises sheep, alpacas and other animals. She spins her own wool. I bought a skein, she called the Circus Lights. I went home Saturday afternoon and crocheted a Hairpin Lace scarf.

Have you ever been to the circus? I will never forget my 1st visit to the Russian circus in Moscow! I was 7 years old & the lights of Moscow circus were the most magnificent lights I ever seen in my life. When all the lights before the show goes off & then all is black, like a night, & then the most magical part begins. All different color lights in the dark are sparkling & dancing all over you.

SO IS MY YARN. "CIRCUS LIGHTS".

Black alpaca mixed with sari silk, yes silk, no cotton or anything else, silky silky stuff.

Spun & then ply with a gorgeous silk lace multicolored thread, sent to my by my Ukrainean friend , who used to work at the textile factory back in the Ukraine. They were making outstanding yarn, threads, this silk tread was a designer thread for the famouse Ukrainean national blouses.

This art yarn will make a lovely & unique project. I am amased at the mystery these alpaca, sari silk & silk thread take on when they are twisted & curled on my spinning wheel.
